Otter in the lake

We have a lake near ours, up through the oak wood, over the hill, down into the next valley and it's there, in 11 years only ever seen one other person down there.
It's owned by the big estate, and the storey is that many years ago they owned mines down in south wales, at one time when work was short they brought up some miners to dam up the stream and make a fishing lake, as you do. More recently in the 1960s and 70s the local doctors had it stocked up with fish and used it. There's a couple of old buildings, partly fallen over but you can still see an old iron bedframe and fireplace and dream. I've several times thought something largish has gone into the water on my approach' Yesterday Tom the tenant farmer of the land our side of the lake saw an otter swimming around. Great news. The only other time we saw an otter it was heading into the wood generally heading towards the lake, so when the knees up to it I'll be heading over there.
