Cuckoos, nests and eggs

Heard the cuckoo several times this week, always a relief to hear them back.

Lots of activity in the nest boxes, 17 boxes have nests started  and 5 have eggs laid.                              Normally there has been a couple which have started laying this early, but not 5. Also there appear to be 5 Pied Flycatcher nests, which is the most I've had, and hopefully there will be  more to come.

The Great tit nest has 4 eggs, they normally are the first to lay.
The nest on the right is a Pied flycatcher's, much harsher than the tits, no wool but leaves.

It sounds amazing to see the eggs and nests of cuckoos as I never notice such things around me. Nature is beautiful and you are doing good job to protect the birds and breed them for making the surrounding colorful.
