Frosts and Fish

Have had a couple of frosts this week, the first of the autumn  probably another one tonight.
This morning when I went to cross the small stream to the lambing barn, I saw a largish fish swimming upstream. The stream is swallow at the ford there and the  fish was actually too big to be completed covered as it twisted its way upstream.
I think it was a salmon, it is spawning season and many young are caught when the fish survey is carried out nearby, so obviously the adults must go upstream.
Some years ago I came across a large salmon partly eaten in the field near the river, it was over 12ins long and was probably half eaten, it hadn't been there the day before.

Fish one of my best dish so far because I like it and eat almost every week. You don't need to do things in a long way just make it and eat it.
